Network AID Represent Education for All Coalition as Selection Panelist 4th Presidential Best Teachers Award 2024

Education for All Coalition which is the leading national coalition on education which constitute membership based organisation to which Network AID is member represented the coalition at the district level selection panel in Koinadugu in selecting the two best teacher candidate. One from the Pre, Primary category and one from the junior, senior and tech-voc category respectively.

The three (3) days process which constitute:-

Day 1 - Shorting of qualified applicants

Day 2 - Interviewing of shortlisted pre-primary applicants

Day 3 - Interviewing of shortlisted junior, senior, and tech-voc applicants

Mr. Mohamed Jalloh, District Director of the Teaching Service Commission welcome the team to Koinadugu District which Jarah Albert Sam from Teaching Service Commission Head Quarter and his team added that they are here to assist the Mr. Jalloh to ensure the process goes fairly.

20 pre-primary school teachers applied and 44 junior, senior and tech-voc teachers applied inclusive of duplication. After the removal of duplicates applicants of both categories 10 successful applicants on both categories were shortlisted for interview.

The interviews were professionally done with fairness, integrity with the aid of teaching service commission team without imposing.

Brima Thoronka a blind teacher from the Kabala School for the Blind emerged 1st position in the pre, primary school categories and Saio Tallu Jalloh from the Kabala Secondary School for Girls emerged 1st position at the junior, senior and tech-voc category respectively. No female teacher applied in both categories.

Brima and Saio represented Koinadugu District at the regional level where both emerged 1st position.

Brima and Saio went for the national level interviews. This is the first time a district has two representatives at the national level interview.

Education for All Coalition was fully represented in all level ot the process facilitated by the Program Manager Charles Desmond Kamara through it membership.

At the national awarding ceremony in Bo District, 5th October, 2024 Dr. Moinina David Sengeh Chief Minister announces the national winners Sulaiman Antonio Sengeh, Principal Centaneous Senior Secondary School Mattru Jong Bonthe District emerged as national winner 2024 at the junior, senior and tech-voc category and Letticia B Huggins, Teacher REC School Jui Upper Infant emerged as national winner at the pre, primary category.
